Responsibilities and Required Skills

The ideal candidates should demonstrate:

  • Leadership: Ability to lead a public sector company effectively, with strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Team Building: Proficiency in fostering team productivity and a sense of responsibility.
  • Strategic Insight: Understanding of economic, business, social, legislative, and regulatory environments.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Expertise in managerial practices, business acumen, and familiarity with power utility best practices, both national and international.

Qualification/Experience/Eligibility Criteria

Common Requirements for All Positions:

  • Minimum 16 years of education in a relevant field from an HEC-recognized university.
  • Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
  • Upper age limit: 57 years.
  • Candidates must meet the Fit and Proper Criteria outlined in the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Position-Specific Requirements:

  1. Chief Commercial Officer:
    • Knowledge of electricity market dynamics in Pakistan.
    • Familiarity with NEPRA’s commercial procedures, power tariffs, and DISCOS operations.
  2. Chief Human Resource Officer:
    • Expertise in HR, change management, and public sector HR issues.
  3. Chief Information Technology Officer:
    • Experience with ERP systems, IT governance frameworks, and major organizational change management.
  4. Chief Legal Officer:
    • Strong background in corporate, advisory, and commercial law, especially in the power sector.
  5. Chief Technical Officer:
    • Expertise in transmission/distribution planning, project management, and demand forecasting.
  6. Chief Financial Officer:
    • Knowledge of finance, investments, treasury operations, and regulatory compliance.
  7. Chief Internal Auditor:
    • Proficiency in auditing, risk management, and governance.
  8. Chief Supply Chain Management Officer:
    • Expertise in procurement, supply chain strategies, and contract management.
  9. Director General (MIRAD):
    • Understanding of competitive electricity markets, tariffs, and demand forecasting.
  10. Company Secretary:
    • Familiarity with corporate laws, governance, and the regulatory regime of power distribution companies.

Other Conditions

  • Applicants must be Pakistani citizens.
  • False or forged information will result in disqualification and cost recovery.
  • Foreign academic qualifications require an HEC equivalence certificate.
